The Tween Leadership Team (TLT) is your chance to lead, create, and connect—with a whole lot of fun along the way!
The TLT is a year-long leadership experience for Jewish tweens, part of an exciting partnership between the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA and PJ Our Way, powered by GenMTL. This exciting initiative is made possible through a grant from PJ Library in partnership with Federation CJA.

Atara
I always wanted to be a leader because I was different. I was younger than most, but also smarter than most. I had no care for popularity. I still wished to find my group. I never truly understood what it means to be a leader until quite recently. It’s not just to solve a riddle and you’re finished. To be a leader you need to be brave, you need training, intelligence and a team. Without a team, you have nobody to lead. So I joined this group to learn, to express myself, to be myself and most importantly to lead (and have some pizza!) Thank you! Merci! Toda

I’m in Grade 4 and I’m 9. I love my family and my friends. My eye color is brown. I have black hair. My favorite food is sushi and my favorite fruit is watermelon. I have 1 older brother and he’s in high school even though we fight I love him. I wear pink glasses and white shoes. I joined the tween leadership team because I love leading and I like being with my friends. I also rather come here than do homework. I also joined because during Mondays I have nothing to do.

Hi my name is Sarah. I chose to go to TLT because it seemed FUN. I am 9 years old, I have brown hair and eyes. I joined TLT because when I came back from school, my mom talked to me about TLT and I said yes!

Hi, my name is Salomé. I am 11 and I decided to go into the tween leadership program because I want to learn how to be a leader and this program seemed fun! So I joined! I love it here because we do so many activities! Even if the people talk a lot here – like a lot! I swim, draw and sing! I love to do these things! So I don’t regret coming here.

The reason I joined this program is because Amy had recommended it to me. The reason I’d like to be a leader is because I like to take charge and help others. I’m 11 years old. My favorite color is green, and I love horseback riding. I am currently in Grade 6. That is a bit about me!
Mila
My name is Mila. I love the color pink but we weren’t allowed to pick a color. I came here because I feel like I could be a leader and even though I make jokes, when I commit to something I’m serious. I don’t know why I got picked but I’m happy that I did so I could be the jokester and so I could have a few new friends that I could explore and get, to know them to that’s why I signed up for the tweens. I like this program because it’s fun so I would be happy but I don’t know why it has to be on Monday because I don’t like Mondays. It’s the day that I just wake up from a weekend especially this one because this weekend we had a ped day so I had fun if Friday weekend but I wish that it would be Wednesdays because that’s the perfect day for me.

I have blue eyes with blond highlights in front of my hair that is dark brown. I like dogs and I also like to do art. I also like to walk my dog. Another thing I like to do is swim. Lastly I like to be with my friends and family. I am here because they asked me to come. I am also here because my mom wanted us to come because she thought it would be fun.

Hi, my name is Avery. I’m 11 years old. This is my second time doing the tween leadership team. I love going to Skytag. I like how we play games and eat pizza every time. I like how we get to know new people. I also like how maybe even though what we want is too complicated they try their best.

My name is Daniel. I am 11 years old and I have 2 siblings. I decided to join the tween leadership team because my parents asked me to and I said yes because my mom asked me to. And I’m a good boy and I wanted to try it.
