Members must use their security fob to access the facilities and locker rooms, including when returning from the pool.Â
For security measures, each person must scan themselves in.
Replacement Fob’s are available for a fee.
Entry is not permitted in Fitness Facilities, Pool, and Gymnasium as of 15 minutes before their respective closing times.
Locker rooms and garage close 15 minutes after the scheduled closing times.
Pool permissions
0-7Â must be at one arm-length from an adult at all times (the adult must go in the water). Ratio is 1 adult per 6 kids, with at least 4 kids wearing lifejackets. Puddle Jumpers/arm floaties are NOT permitted in place of lifejackets.
8-11 must be under the direct supervision of a vigilant adult on the pool deck. Ratio is 1 per 15 kids.
12+ are welcome to come to the pool on their own without supervision.
Activities
An adult 16+ must accompany a child to a pool program. The adult can leave the pool area once the program has begun, and must return before the program has ended. At the end of a program, the swim instructor will hand the child to the adult outside the pool, after which time if the child wants to continue swimming, the same rules apply for different ages as above.Â
Anyone age 16+ may sign a membership contract if they have a valid method of payment. Parents or legal guardians must sign on behalf of anyone 15 years of age or younger, or on behalf of ages 16 & 17 if the parent is the payor.
Cancellation
Within 36 days of start date : Contract may be cancelled without penalty. The client will be entitled to a prorated reimbursement of the second month if paid. Client is not entitled to reimbursement of first month regardless of cancellation date. Joining fee will not be refunded.
After 36 days of start date: Members who wish to break their contract must pay a penalty ($15 for Y Fit, $35 for Health Club) for each month remaining in their contract. The penalty fee is to be paid in full at the time of cancellation. There will be no refund for paid time whether or not it has been or will be used.
Downgrade & Upgrade
Within 36 days of start date: Your contract may be downgraded without penalty.
After 36 days of start date: Switching from Health Club to Y Fit carries a penalty of $20 per month remaining, to be paid in full at the time the downgrade takes effect. The downgraded membership resets to a full year from the downgrade date. Upgrades incur no penalty.
Guest Passes
Each Y Fit membership (ages 12+) includes 4 guest passes per membership year, carryover permitted.
Health Club membership includes 8 guest passes to the Health Club per membership year, carryover permitted.
Members’ guests are required to enter with the member and are the responsibility of the member. We gather email and telephone information from all guests using the facilities.
Medical Cancellation
Cancellation of membership is permitted with a signed note from a medical or paramedical professional, and the cancellation fee will be waived. Get well soon! You will not be charged an initiation fee when you rejoin. Note that we do not offer medical freezes.
Membership Dues
All memberships are charged a one-time initiation fee which is added to the first membership installment.Â
Junior and Inclusion memberships are charged in one installment. All other annual memberships are charged every 30 days over 12 installments, by electronic cheque (direct bank withdrawals), Visa, or MasterCard.Â
Membership Freeze
If a member will be absent for an extended period, they can pay a Freeze Fee to put their membership and payments on hold, provided:
Monthly payments will be paused during absence and will resume on the set date of return.
NSF Policy
Members whose monthly debit payments do not go through, or whose credit cards are declined on the 2nd try, will be charged a $18 admin fee and will be notified. Members with NSF on file who have been cancelled may start a new membership provided they pay the cancellation fee/admin fees owed on file.
One-Month Membership
One-month Health Club memberships include indoor parking.
One-month Y Fit memberships are not eligible for indoor parking.
One-month members are not entitled to member pricing or complimentary guests and are not eligible for refunds.
Referral Program
All paying members who are 18+ receive
$50 credit (total) for successfully referring a new annual Y Fit member who is 18+.
$100 credit (total) for successfully referring a new annual Health Club member who is 18+.
When a new member joins, they receive a $50 discount for Y Fit or a $100 discount for Health Club on their annual membership. The referring annual member will receive their credit 36 days after the new member joins, provided they have retained their membership. The credit will be applied to annual membership dues and has no cash value or refund option. For a referral discount, the new member must not have been a one-month or annual member since February 2022. This offer cannot be combined with other promotions for both the referrer and the referee. To participate in the referral program, the new member must mention the referrer’s name at the time of purchase. Credits will not be provided retroactively.
Refunds
Refunds for membership will not be granted for a period that has already passed regardless of whether it was used. Refunds are not granted for junior, inclusion, or one-month memberships.
Renewals
Members will be contacted within one month of their anticipated renewal date. Members may renew using our online membership system, by phone, or in person.
Holiday and unforseen closures do not entitle members to extensions of their membership.
Yfit lockers are for day use only (unless renting). Remaining belongings will be removed nightly and discarded after 3 months. Bring a lock or purchase one at our Fitness Desk!
We offer lockerettes near our turnstile at no charge for valuables.
Absolutely no photos, videos or FaceTime calls permitted anywhere in the locker rooms.
You may not dye or cut your hair anywhere at the Y.
HEALTH CLUB
Age Access
Reserved for 18+ (excluding Sunday Family day).
Sunday Family Day
All health club members are entitled to bring up to 2 family members under the age of 18 at no charge on Sundays.
Steam Room & Sauna
It is forbidden to prop steam or sauna room door open or add water or press buttons that should not be pressed.
It is forbidden to shave in the steam room or sauna.
It is forbidden to dry personal items (ie. bathing suits) in the sauna.
No beverages permitted in the steam room or sauna.
It is forbidden to bring your phone in the sauna or steam room.
Programs & Activities
Programming refund requests must be made in writing prior to the start date of the program’s third class and are subject to a $18 administrative fee. The administrative fee will be waived if the client opts for credit on his account rather than refund. Refunds will not be granted for services or classes that have already taken place whether or not the participant attended. Participants will be refunded the prorated amount for the remaining classes, less the $18 administrative fee. Insufficient registration numbers may result in a program cancellation, in which case a full refund will be issued.
Tickets for one-time events are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Registration is not permitted once 50% of the program has passed. Â
Members who have parking privileges may use the garage for a maximum of 3 hours per visit.
Parking cards are not transferable.
Directional signage and speed limit must be respected.Â
Located at the Welcome Desk. Clothing and containers are kept for 1 month. Valuables are kept for 3 months.
We modify our policies to comply with Public Health directives. Members are expected to comply with these regulations.Â
A permanent locker option is available for all annual and single-month members starting at $6 per month.Â
Towel service is available for all annual and single-month members for $12 per month (max 3 towels per visit).
Bathrobes are not included and are strictly reserved for Health Club members.
