Fit for Girls
Girls can face an endless amount of body issue challenges during their teenage years. Our Fit for Girls program gives girls aged 12 to 17 years old an opportunity to learn about health and wellness, and to exercise in a structured, safe environment.
Our health professionals designed these girls-only-classes to encourage teenage girls to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle. The goal is to teach healthy habits early on, to set the tone for years to come. According to our Director of Fitness and Membership Services, Laura Muzzo, health studies show that children who are exposed to healthy habits and exercise tend to continue a healthy way of life as adults.
Our 8-week Fit for Girls program that runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM, March 24 – May 28th, will expose girls to different types of exercise classes that change weekly and that are monitored by a certified fitness trainer. From cycling, to weight training, to boxing and more, the classes are varied but always customized with the girls’ ages and abilities in mind.
The goal is to encourage teenage girls to:
- Create an active lifestyle
- Exercise in a safe and fun environment
- Build confidence in the fitness center
- Develop social skills with like-minded individuals
