What do you teach at the Y?
I teach SWEAT – Camp.
What is the best part of being a fitness trainer?
Seeing people get stronger and improving their health is the best feeling!
How do you stay motivated?
I don’t. My motivation comes and goes and that’s completely normal. Having a workout schedule planned in my calendar makes it easier for me to take that time for myself. Some days are easier than others but in the long run, discipline is what makes the difference.
What have you learned from Covid-19 in terms of teaching and connecting with members?
You don’t need much to get a good workout in! No matter how big or small of a space you might have at home, it’s incredible how creative we can get with our workouts. Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Do you have a favourite type of workout? If so what is it and why?
Give me a pair of dumbbells and a series of basic fundamentals movements to perform and I’m a happy gal. Simple can keep you strong! It doesn’t have to be complicated.
What is your favourite new feature, space and/or equipment at the newly renovated Y? And why?
I’m excited to see the new studios and all the space!
