What is your favourite Y memory?

Teaching Ballet Jazz to a group of little girls in the early 80s. One of them became my sister in law and the mother of my nephews! This is what happens at the Y.

Why did you join the Y’s board?

I believe in the power of community and our need for a strong community centre where each of us can feel safe and at home.

Which talent would you most like to have?

Be a great dancer! I love to dance and the freedom that comes with it.

Who are your real life heroes?

It my sound corny, but my parents! My dad instilled in me this love for community and our responsibility to protect it, and my mom who taught me the power of resilience, perseverance and determination. Through their teachings I understood that no dream is to big!

When and/or where were you happiest?

At my Shabbat table, with my family (the more the merrier) when my home is loud and full of laughter.

What is your favourite Y memory?

I always enjoyed going up to YCC on visiting day and spending the day with the kids at the camp.

Why did you join the Y’s board?

I think the Y is a great organization and am hoping to help it continue growing in the right direction.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I am really tone deaf, I don’t want to become a great singer but would love to be able to carry a tune. I taught myself the saxophone specifically because you don’t need to sing!!

Who are your real life heroes?

I am impressed with all those out there who have an idea and pursue it. Especially when they make the world and planet a better and safer place.

When and/or where were you happiest?

If I had to choose just one spot it would be at my summer chalet on the dock watching the sunset after a really good swim (and an earlier bike ride)!!

Happiest on the lake with my family.
