Spring Camp

The Y City Spring Camp is an engaging and stimulating environment for children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. With a focus on fun, hands-on experiential learning in a Jewish environment, campers in same-aged bunks will be led by enthusiastic Counselors through a full day of activities run by qualified and energetic Program Specialists in Sports and Arts. Each camper will deepen their appreciation for nature and the rituals of shared experience with swimming and outdoor free play every day Y City Spring Camp is an inclusive, nurturing and inspiring environment where each child will develop their skill and confidence, and feel a real sense of community and belonging.

Y City Camp Values

Here at the Y we connect families to each other and to learning experiences throughout the year – opportunities for enjoyment and growth. We offer a warm, inclusive Jewish environment where we can build on our existing relationships and cultivate new ones. This is where kids and their families feel supported, year long within a larger community committed to FUN, ENRICHMENT and EACH OTHER.

We believe in building community through ritual and connection in the joy of new experiences. This looks like a camp steeped in:

  • Exploring Jewish identity

  • Building connection to nature

  • Learning by doing

A Day at Y City Camp

Peek through the window and on a typical day at Y City Camp you might see small bunks of kids (8:1 ratios) travelling together with their counsellors through a consistent schedule of camp activities like Arts, Multisports, Drama, Dance, STEM and Nature Lore. Look closer you’ll notice the counsellors are leading from the back, the young kids are becoming more autonomous, learning and mastering new skills, their sense of independence and confidence growing throughout the day. You will see that time outdoors is prioritized daily and that our camp Swim School, where certified lifeguards teach campers to swim through their levels, are the foundation of our program. You will recognize the habits and routines of camp life, like morning bell and Friday challah becoming the rituals and ceremony that bind us, where a sense of belonging and identity is fostered.
