WOLVES BASKETBALL: An Elite Basketball Program!

The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA Wolves mission is to offer a high-quality basketball program and experience that fosters a sense of community and belonging. We believe in fostering talent, discipline, and a passion for the game. Our program is designed for young athletes who are not just looking to play basketball but to excel at it. We provide a comprehensive training environment where players can develop their skills, understand the intricacies of the game, and compete at the highest levels.

The Y Wolves play out of the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive Jewish environment, where all members of the Wolves community will participate in social, athletic, and hands-on learning activities. We encourage our athletes’ physical health, and Community identity. Team functions and practices will never interfere with any Jewish holidays. While the Wolves are open to anyone, we do follow Jewish guidelines and values for our scheduling.

The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA Wolves Basketball intercity teams compete in the Montreal Basketball League (MBL). Games are played against teams who represent different community centers on the island of Montreal. This is a competitive league in which players have the opportunity to play against some of the best players in the city.

The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA has a long, storied history with the game of basketball. A basketball hotbed dating back to the 1950’s the Y gained notoriety for winning a National Championship in 1947 and in so doing earning the right to represent Canada at the Olympics the following year. The Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA has continued to consistently produce quality teams in the decades since, winning numerous championships in the Montreal Basketball League and at various tournaments. We are equally proud of our alumni who have graduated from our program and gone on to play at a higher level. The CEGEP and University basketball leagues are full of former Wolves.
